Today CT, an official rep for Webs.com posted a thread on the Webs support community outlining the features of the new site builder.

In the post CT stated some key information related to the release.

Bad News

To focus on the new SiteBuilder, Webs will not be fixing any of the non-major bugs and issues from the old site builder.

For a list of bugs they will not address check out:http/support.webs.com/webs/topics/s…

Keep In Mind

Webs is not yet ready for you to transfer your existing content to the new site builder. They are currently working on a Conversion Tool that will allow us to do so.

Webs cannot transfer premium services to a new site builder account at this time. This feature will be announced via the Conversion Topic.

Access The New Site Builder

The following link will allow you to create new sites using SB3.

Click Here to Access SB3

For more information and updates regarding the SB3 check out WebCloud

Exactly what is the Div-Login Module?

Ok, so what exactly is the Div-Login Module? The Div Login Module is the Sign In/Register Links and the little icon beside it. Now, the original Webs icon doesn't go well with certain templates. And even the text might not go with the template. There is a code that can fix that, which I have customized, and I am now going to show you how to use the code. So, this is what the Div-Login Module looked like before it was fixed.

      Now, even though that may be fine for you I'm gonna spice it up with a custom image and even show you how to customize the Div-Login Module.

So, first we have the code. div#login-module {}

Now we are going to change the font properties in the Div-Login Module

div#login-module {font-size: 1.1em; color: #ffffff !important;}

That changes the text to the color white and the font size fairly small.

Now let's add some padding.

div#login-module {font-size: 1.1em; color: #ffffff !important; padding: 5px; padding-left: 22px;}

And finally let's add the icon image.

div#login-module {font-size: 1.1em; color: #ffffff !important; padding: 5px; padding-left: 22px; background: url(urloftheimagehere) 0 55% no-repeat;}

Make sure the image you insert is 16px by 16px or 32px by 32px image.

Now I inserted my own image and customized the fonts. This is how it looks:

Now here is the whole code:

/*Code by FindTheCode.webs.com*/

div#login-module {

	font-size: 1.1em;

	padding: 5px;

	padding-left: 22px;

	background: url(http://images.webs.com/static/global/icons/silk/user.png) 0 55% no-repeat;

color: #ffffff !important;

}

Thanks for reading and please check out my site: FindTheCode.webs.com. Have fun coding!

How to auto hide stuff on pages if the user is logging out. And how to auto hide stuff on pages if the user is logged in.

Hi many of you have asked how to do this so here you go. ;)

Note: this works for webs.com built websites.

How to auto hide stuff on pages if the user is logging out.

And how to auto hide stuff on pages if the user is logged in.

Step 1.) Make A new folder in the file manager and name it "Hide this when".

Step 2.) Create 2 new text documents on your computer an name one "User is logged in.css" and name the other one "User is logged out.css".

Step 3.) After creating the 2 new text documents upload each of them to the file manager in the "Hide this when"

folder you created in step one. Note: There file names will be changed to have .txt behind each of the file names.

You need to remove the .txt from each file name so that thy look like thy do above highlighted in red.

Step 4.) Go to the Sidebar manager and create A new custom module. Next click on the HTML icon <> toggle button.

Now copy the coding below and past the code you coped in to the custom sidebar module. After doing that save the

changes. Note you do not need to name the custom sidebar module. Also for best results you can move the custom side bar module up to the top of all the other side bar modules. And put the code in the footer as-well so that this will work no pages were the side bar is not showing.

This uses the User Detection code that was originally created by Sam Jesso.

Thanks Sam Jesso!

I have just made A few small changes to it.

<script>function loggedIn() {var checkElem = document.getElementById("item-user"); if(checkElem) {return true;}

else {return false;};};var siteURL = ".webs.com"; //No slash on the end!

if(loggedIn()) {var username = document.getElementById("item-user").getElementsByTagName("a")

[1].innerHTML; document.write("<link rel='stylesheet' href='/Hide%20this%20when/User%20is%20logged

%20in.css' type='text/css'>"); } else {document.write("<link rel='stylesheet' href='/Hide%20this%20when/User%20is

%20logged%20out.css' type='text/css'>");}</script>

Step 5.) Auto hiding stuff on pages if the user is logging out.

Now whenever you want to hide something on the site from someone hew is viewing your site but is not logged in

you go to the folder in the file manager named "Hide this when" and click on the edit icon next to the file named

"User is logged out.css".

And there you will put the CSS that will hide that specific element by its unique div id or Class name.

Step 6.) Auto hiding stuff on pages if the user is logged in.

Now whenever you want to hide something on the site from someone hew is viewing your site and is logged in you

go to the folder in the file manager named "Hide this when" and click on the edit icon next to the file named "User is

logged in.css".

And there you will put the CSS that will hide that specific element by its unique div id or Class name.

          What are ID's and Classes?
Featured Site of The Week

First of all before I start I just want to apologise for not posting a Featured Site of The Week for a couple of weeks now, I have just been super busy and have therefore not had time to write one out. Anyway, let's talk about this week's Featured Site of The Week.

What I love about this week's Featured Site of The Week is it design! It's so awesome, it has a great background image and a totally awesome header which completed the site for me.

The site overall follows a simplistic style and is not overcrowded in anyway at all. The site to me comes across as a information website/portfolio.

I hope you can be inspired by this website to have a great design! As a great design will make your website a lot more appealing.

If you would like your website to be featured on our blog and viewed by 1000's of people, then comment below with your website URL.
