App Store: Released!

That's right, the long awaited App Store is finally released to the general public! Right now there isn't many apps unless you considder Webs apps, but there will be a lot of great stuff in the future, mark my words.

For those of you who were waiting for the Meebo Chat bar, the wait is over! It's here, check my site! And if you have an etsy account, or a game site, check the app store for some cool apps.

New Feature

Webs just released a new minor feature to the welcome sidebar moduel: inbox on sidebar! You can now see if you have any messages from your sidebar without going all the way into your profile. This is so useful! Give a thanks to Webs by posting a comment!

How do I add this? Easy! Edit a page, click the Sidebar tab (on top), and click Save Changes. It will automatclly adds it. Can't be easier! Post any bugs and errors here.

Big changes coming to SD.webs!

Got some changes, big and small, here at SD.webs. Some in the future, some now. You probably noticed the new theme, if you did congrats! If not, open your eyes a little more! Haha. It's a slightly different version from the last one, but with one major difference: it works in IE8! We finally ironed out all the bugs today and decided to lauch SD.webs version 2! If you spot any bugs send me a PM or post a comment. We still got a few areas on the site to play around with.

We also got big plans for 2010! What would you think about four contests a year? Yeah, sounds exciting doesn't? Two template contests, and two other contests which I can't give any details about yet. Gonna be exciting though. Stay tuned for the upcoming winter contest, which will probably start a month earlier to give you fellows a change to make your best template. Then during December the voting will start and end. More details coming of course, you just have to check back.

Winter Template Contest [Details]

With our summer contest being a success, but not as popular as we had hoped, we are holding a second 2009 contest in the winter. Running from December 1st to 31st, you'll have a month to submit a Christmas themed template and submit it for great prizes (we are looking for sponsors! Contact me for more info)! Voting will run for another month, to give people a chance to come back. Again, there will only be three winners, but hey! More details will come this fall, hang tight and check back!

Webs App Store: Information Leaked

Webs has announced quitely that a App Store is under constrution. An App Store. Hmmm. Sounds like the Apple App Store doesn't it? What is this Webs App Store gonna have? Well, according to Haroon, CEO of Webs, they are going to have full apps (like the link app, forum app, photo app, etc), Sidebar Apps (for the sidebar only), and Plugins (for the site editor, so you can do more on your site). And there will also be Third Party Plugins, made by other companys (e.x. meebo). It sounds interesting. You can read more about this on Haroon's website here.
